For more than 60 years, James Bond has defined the modern spy thriller. But the story behind 007 is just as fascinating as the films themselves.
This documentary explores the origins of James Bond, from Ian Fleming’s real-life intelligence experience and his years in Jamaica to the creation of Casino Royale and the struggle to bring Bond to the screen.
Discover how Harry Saltzman and Albert “Cubby” Broccoli joined forces, how Dr. No overcame production problems and budget pressures, and why Sean Connery was chosen to become the first major cinematic Bond. We also look at Ursula Andress, the making of the iconic Jamaica sequences, the creation of Bond’s signature style, and the unexpected challenges behind the franchise’s first film.
From Fleming’s inspiration to the explosive success of Dr. No and the rise of Bond mania, this is the story of how 007 became one of the most recognizable icons in popular culture.
